About the position

ENSCO Inc. is seeking a Network/Cyber Security Engineer responsible for evaluating, designing, documenting, and maintaining complex computer network systems. The role involves providing technical support, consulting, and training on network facilities, as well as ensuring network security and performance through monitoring and troubleshooting. The engineer will also be involved in planning major network initiatives and developing contingency plans for network failures.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating, designing, documenting, installing, implementing, testing, and performing problem isolation and resolution for network systems.
  • Maintaining a complex range of computer network components and systems.
  • Performing functions across a wide range of network facilities including physical media, protocol stacks, routers, and telecommunications transport facilities.
  • Providing client consulting and training on the interfacing and use of network facilities.
  • Planning and coordinating major computer network initiatives.
  • Researching, evaluating, and recommending new computer network equipment and technologies.
  • Utilizing monitoring and performance analysis tools to troubleshoot and isolate problems.
  • Devising solutions to complex operational problems within the capacity of installed equipment.
  • Developing and executing contingency plans for network software and hardware failures.
  • Providing internal consulting and technical guidance to various departments.
  • Assisting in internal training programs.
  • Analyzing systems for malware, misuse, or unauthorized activity.
  • Providing engineering support for network-based intrusion detection.
  • Investigating virus/malware alerts to determine root cause and reporting findings.
  • Ensuring network defense capabilities are current, patched, and securely configured.
  • Maintaining system baselines and configuration management items.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; minimum 7 years of closely related experience.
  • Five (5) years of demonstrated network engineering experience and cyber security experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs) related to cybersecurity, at a minimum, ICD 503.
  • An active TOP SECRET SCI with POLYGRAPH SECURITY CLEARANCE, U.S. Citizenship required.
