About the position

The Network Data L3 Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of complex network infrastructures. This position involves advanced troubleshooting, network architecture recommendations, security management, change management, incident management, and proactive network monitoring. The engineer will also be responsible for knowledge sharing within the team to enhance overall efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Investigating and resolving complex network issues, including packet capture analysis and log analysis.
  • Providing recommendations on network architecture and best practices to optimize performance and security.
  • Understanding and troubleshooting network security appliances, traffic flow, and application connectivity.
  • Implementing complex network changes and ensuring minimal disruption to services.
  • Handling high-priority incidents and leading incident response teams.
  • Monitoring network performance and proactively identifying potential issues.
  • Documenting and sharing knowledge with the team to improve overall efficiency.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of routing protocols (RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, ISIS, BGP)
  • Experience in troubleshooting complex network issues, including wireless networks and WAN links
  • Strong understanding of network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers) from vendors like Cisco, Aruba, HP, and F5
  • Proficiency in network security technologies (IPsec, VPN, firewall)
  • Experience with network monitoring tools (ServiceNow, ITSM Remedy)
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 on-call environment.
