About the position

The Judge Group Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Network Design Engineer - IV to join their team in West Valley City, Utah. This role is pivotal in the engineering of large, multi-protocol, and multi-vendor management networks, focusing primarily on datacenter environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and implementation of new infrastructure build-outs and engineering design rollouts, as well as the integration of management networks. This position requires a deep understanding of network engineering principles and the ability to manage complex projects effectively. In this role, the Network Design Engineer will create engineering site design templates, implementation plans, Statements of Work (SoW), and Bills of Materials (BoM). They will also build Methods of Procedures (MoP) to facilitate the deployment of required changes in the network. The candidate will be expected to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of work to meet customer demands, develop schedules, define resource requirements, and provide status updates to strategic programs within the network infrastructure. Collaboration is key in this position, as the engineer will participate in design discussions with various cross-functional teams, including Planning, Operations, End User teams, and Project Management teams, to ensure that the design is driven to completion. Additionally, the candidate must possess the ability to troubleshoot IPv4/IPv6 routing within the Data Center environment and management data network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of the network.

Responsibilities

  • Create engineering site design templates, implementation plans, Statement of Work (SoW), and Bill of Materials (BoM).
  • Build Method of Procedures (MoP) to allow Implementation teams to deploy required changes in the network.
  • Produce custom configuration scripts for complex changes.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective completion of work to meet customer demands.
  • Develop schedules, define resource requirements, and provide status updates to strategic programs within the network infrastructure.
  • Participate in engineering design discussions with cross-functional teams to ensure design completion.
  • Troubleshoot IPv4/IPv6 routing within Data Center environment and management data network infrastructure.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or related field/work experience.
  • Minimum 8 years in data network engineering in a large scale environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of design of LAN and WAN technologies including layer 2 switching (Spanning Tree, VLAN, 802.1q) and layer 3 routing (OSPF, BGP, ISIS, Multicast, MPLS, QoS).
  • Extensive Routing & Switching configuration experience with Arista/Cisco platforms.
  • Extensive Firewall/Load Balancer platform configuration experience with F5/PaloAlto.
  • Extensive experience with the TCP/IP protocol suite aligning with OSI model.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to complete projects with minimal guidance.
  • Ability to work effectively in large cross-functional teams with vendors, suppliers, and contractors.

Nice-to-haves

  • CCNP/CCIE certification.
  • Knowledge of wireline and wireless management networks.
  • Hands-on experience with IPv6 (Addressing, Subnetting, and Troubleshooting).
