About the position

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a skilled Network Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in support of a government agency. This role is critical as it involves working closely with the government lead on various engineering tasks related to network systems. The position is based in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and requires the candidate to be present in the office five days a week. The Network Design Engineer will be responsible for the administration of Local Area Networks (LAN) and Base Area Networks (BAN), ensuring that all network operations run smoothly and efficiently. In this role, the engineer will provide essential support for the implementation and development of identity and access management requirements. This includes overseeing Rights Management Services for users, administrators, and groups, which is vital for maintaining security and access control within the network. Additionally, the engineer will assist in integrating Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) certificates with network accounts to facilitate two-factor authentication for all Active Directory (AD) domain account categories. This integration is crucial for enhancing the security posture of the organization and ensuring compliance with government standards. Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the government lead in all duties associated with engineering on systems.
  • Local Area Network (LAN)/Base Area Network (BAN) administration.
  • Provide support with both the implementation and development of identity and access management requirements.
  • Oversee Rights Management Services for users, administrators, and groups.
  • Assist with performing integration with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) certificates and network accounts to support two-factor authentication for all Active Directory (AD) domain account categories.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of IT experience with focus on networking.
  • Prior work with Cisco routers and switches, configuration, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Juniper, Fortinet, Brocade, Avaya, or any related technologies.
  • AWS or Azure experience is a plus.
  • IAT III Certification (CASP+, CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCNP Security)
  • Active Secret Clearance
