Sanford Health is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our team, responsible for the implementation and maintenance of large-scale enterprise networks. This role is crucial in designing and architecting data highways for our organization, ensuring that our network infrastructure supports the diverse needs of our health system. The Network Engineer will provide guidance to technical support teams engaged in the implementation and troubleshooting of hardware and software that support a wide range of systems. This position requires proficiency in multiple routing and switching protocols, as well as a strong understanding of network management platforms and troubleshooting tools, such as protocol analyzers. In this role, you will attend training, conferences, and seminars to obtain specific hardware and software knowledge, and you will be expected to understand a systems approach to problem-solving and process improvement involving staff. The ability to plan, architect, and document enterprise-class solutions for future network growth is essential. You will also need a fundamental working knowledge of operating systems and software currently used throughout Sanford Health, along with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in advanced TCP/IP, routing, switching, and firewall technologies. Experience with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes for network function virtualization is desired, as well as an understanding of machine learning algorithms to predict network performance and automate capacity planning. You should be able to integrate network automation with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) for seamless cloud networking and have proficiency in network automation tools such as Terraform and GitOps for infrastructure as code (IaC) practices. Additionally, you will develop automation solutions to work with existing and new network technologies, including switches, routers, and firewalls, and will be responsible for documenting complex processes and turning them into requirements for developers to implement.
