About the position

The Network Design Engineer at TEKsystems will provide subject matter expertise in network design, integration, testing, security, and implementation of network services for DISA DoDNet. This role involves evaluating network bandwidth needs, proposing new solutions, and planning network upgrades while working in a dynamic and mission-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide Subject Matter Expertise in network design, integration, test, security, and implementation of Network Services for DISA DoDNet.
• Provide expert knowledge of network engineering and operations, large scale enterprise network solution implementation and transition to Network Operations.
• Provide Subject Matter Expertise on secure wide area connectivity including underlay, overlay, and COI transport design.
• Propose new solutions to Network Domain Architects to define and/or continuously improve network services.
• Create and maintain Engineering Implementation Plans (EIP).
• Evaluate network bandwidth needs and recommend measures to meet those requirements.
• Plan and execute network upgrades and maintenance activities with key stakeholders.

Requirements

• Master's degree and 15-20+ years of experience in network engineering; additional years of related work experience may substitute for a degree.
• Must have a DoD IAT level II baseline certification (Sec+).
• CISSP or CCIE active certification.
• Advanced/Professional level vendor certifications (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Palo Alto).
• 10+ years' experience engineering and troubleshooting networks, including extensive routing and switching experience.
• In-depth knowledge of IP network/subnet addressing.
• Experience presenting to customer management and stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager (CPPM) identity management solution.
• Demonstrated NET/SEC DevOps experience.
