About the position

The Network Design Engineer position at Motion Recruitment Partners involves working with a leading financial services company to design and implement network solutions in a hybrid work environment. This long-term contract role focuses on enterprise network infrastructure, particularly in supporting data center operations and ensuring seamless integration of network services.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the coordination, installation, support, and maintenance of network infrastructure with a focus on enterprise network.
• Provide technical support to end users via troubleshooting skills across both network and system applications.
• Integrate, consolidate & maintain network services across routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless devices.
• Coordinate, design, implement and validate network solutions in accordance with architectural design standards and best practices.
• Execute internet designs and migrations during approved business change green-zones.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience designing and implementing LAN/WAN/Datacenter solutions for large enterprise environments.
• 3+ years of experience with IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, Static), specializing in DDoS mitigation strategies and configuring ACLs.
• 3+ years of Network Engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, military experience, or education.
• 3+ years of experience with configuration of routing and switching platforms, specifically Cisco Nexus and/or Arista.

Nice-to-haves

• CCNA, CCNP/DP or CCIE Certification preferred - Datacenter.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering and/or 3+ years of Networking experience.
• Experience working in a Product/Agile environment utilizing Atlassian Jira products.
• Experience with Change control processes - Service Now.
• Experience with scripting languages such as YAML/Python/Ansible/GITHUB.
