About the position

The Network Design & Planning Engineer will be part of the Enterprise Network Team, focusing on conducting network assessments, creating network designs, and pricing solutions for implementation. This role requires a deep understanding of enterprise voice and data networks, emphasizing high-level network designs, data flows, and disaster recovery. The position starts as a contract role with potential for extension and full-time conversion.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating and communicating with the network engineering team to capture and assess network requirements.
• Conducting a thorough assessment of current and future-state network capabilities.
• Costing out all network projects and conducting cost-benefit analysis for new or upgraded network hardware and software.
• Creating network designs using Microsoft Visio and CAD/CADD tools.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in an IT related field.
• Current CCDA or CCDP Certifications are highly preferred.
• Minimum 5-7 years in enterprise network engineering.
• Demonstrated use of tools like Visio and other CADD tools to create high level requirements documents (HLRD), Network Diagrams, and data flow charts.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Routers & Switches.
• 2-3+ years' experience with Firewalls, preferably Juniper Netscreen SSG/SRX.
