About the position

The Network Development Engineer (NDE) at Amazon Robotics is responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting advanced networking solutions that enable Amazon Fulfillment Centers to efficiently deliver packages to customers. This role involves working with diverse networking technologies, automating network operations, and ensuring high performance, availability, and security of the network infrastructure. The NDE will tackle complex challenges, collaborate with various technical teams, and contribute to the development of next-generation network products.

Responsibilities

• Write code for demanding, cross-functional networking projects.
• Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straightforward solutions.
• Fully understand system inter-dependencies and limitations.
• Research and benchmark Amazon technology against competing systems in the industry.
• Contribute intellectual property through patents.
• Assist in the career development of others by mentoring individuals and the community on advanced technical issues.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience with major internet routing protocols.
• 4+ years of experience working in a Linux/Unix environment.
• 4+ years of experience with automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl.
• Experience with AWS and AWS networking products such as Direct Connect and Transit Gateway.
• Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Server Load Balancing, and Network Security architecture.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GIT, and Linux.
• Experience with Cisco ISE.
• Experience with Cisco Catalyst Center (DNAC).
