We are seeking a Network Development Engineer II to provide technical thought leadership for Whole Foods Market's next-generation networks. As we look to the future, our networks will support an ecosystem of robotics, industrial IoT, sensors, drones, and mobile devices. In this role, you will be responsible for the operation of the global network, ensuring that it meets the demands of our customers while maintaining high standards of information security and network reliability. You will need to be comfortable with taking risks and iterating on designs that may initially fail, ultimately delivering robust systems that elegantly scale. A passion for working with new technologies and pushing the envelope on existing technology is essential, along with a high level of ownership and a bias for action. Your responsibilities will include driving the scaling of current network designs, creating simple processes to help operate and build our network, and working closely with internal customers to alleviate their problems. You will also be involved in new designs and solutions, bringing them from concept to operational status. Updating network standards and ensuring adherence to these standards will be a key part of your role, as will reviewing and implementing changes through automation and orchestration solutions. You will drive operational excellence projects aimed at improving network quality and reliability, troubleshoot complex problems, and develop innovative solutions on a day-to-day basis. This position requires a strong ability to work with a wide range of complex technologies, including optical engineering, and demands strong written and verbal communication skills, project management, and time management skills.
