About the position

The Network Engineer position at Dhara Consulting Group involves maintaining and sustaining existing networks, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of data and voice system networks. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to follow detailed work instructions while interfacing with users and network vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and sustainment of existing networks.
  • Identify and correct network issues.
  • Resolve routine network problems using network analyzers and test equipment.
  • Monitor data or voice system networks for messages, alarms, or issues.
  • Activate scripts as alarms occur and confirm the accuracy of messages or issues.
  • Troubleshoot problems using scripts and standard procedures, escalating as necessary.
  • Document results of issue resolutions and communicate actions taken.
  • Execute scheduled maintenance routines and identify issues for resolution or escalation.
  • Activate/deactivate network lines according to established schedules.
  • Perform first- and/or second-level problem determination.
  • Interface with users and network vendors.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience in similar programs and contracts.
  • Associate's degree in engineering technology or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with installation and configuration of network devices (firewalls, switches, routers).
  • Experience supporting WAN technologies (SONET, DS3, T1).
  • Experience with Taclanes/KG-175, MPLS, BGP, VPNs is a plus.
  • IAT level II baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01-M is required.
  • Candidate must have a TS/SCI polygraph clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • CompTIA Network+, CCENT, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent certifications.
