About the position

The Network Engineer position at ITEC involves supporting mission-critical programs for the Department of Defense and Intelligence community. The role requires a highly qualified and motivated individual to maintain innovative and complex systems, focusing on network administration and real-time system applications. The position is based in Aurora, CO, and offers opportunities for both individual and collaborative work in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team in evaluating network platform level problems and providing immediate solutions to restore service.
  • Support and maintain real-time system applications on an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contract.
  • Perform updates, patching, and baseline changes to adhere to Information Security requirements, policies, and standards.
  • Troubleshoot network architecture, including network interfaces and firewalls, and make recommendations for system enhancements.
  • Handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Gain a detailed understanding of systems, flows, CONOPs, and advanced concepts; innovate and provide strategic direction.
  • Support rotational 24x7 on-call support.

Requirements

  • Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date.
  • Demonstrable real-world experience in network configuration and management of critical network environments.
  • Clear understanding of the OSI model.
  • Experience with IPSec, multilayer switching, VLANs, and Virtual environments (ESXi).
  • Knowledgeable in Static/Dynamic IP environments, LAN/WAN interfaces, Routed and routing protocols, subnetting, remote management and monitoring using SNMPv3 and SSH.
  • Experience in network devices such as Cisco ASAs, Routers, and Switches.
  • Familiarity with CISCO Spine-Leaf network topology/architecture.
  • Experience with Cisco IOS, NX OS, VMware.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of network protocols, such as TCP/IP, Multicast and UDP.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to work in a structured configuration controlled environment, primarily focused on the support and maintenance of real-time systems on an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contract.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to evaluate platform level problems and provide solutions for immediate restoration of service.
  • Experience with 24x7 operational systems.
  • Interface with external services for DNS, NTP, and others.
  • Experience formalizing, developing, and writing requirements, plans, and procedures based on customer interactions and statements of work.
  • Experience developing system-level designs, high-level control and data interfaces.
  • Experience designing and setting up networks and data centers.
