About the position

The Network Engineer is responsible for architecting, implementing, and providing tier 3 support for the technical infrastructure in the Wisconsin Court System. This role involves mentoring technical staff, collaborating with various teams, and ensuring the effective operation of the network technology that supports the daily operations of all Wisconsin courts.

Responsibilities

  • Train tier 3 technical staff to maintain and support production networking equipment and software.
  • Troubleshoot and respond to network design issues, system-generated alerts, and issues brought forth by CCAP tier 3 support staff.
  • Research new systems, techniques, or tools for the purpose of implementing new production systems or remediating existing technical problems.
  • Monitor production systems to proactively improve performance or resolve pending technical problems.
  • React to technical emergencies and take appropriate action.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Senior-level experience in complex technical implementation projects (12-15 years of experience).
  • Lead experience in installation and maintenance of network hardware (12-15 years of experience).
  • Experience in a senior capacity monitoring and supporting enterprise computer networks (12-15 years of experience).
  • Advanced knowledge of networking, including switches, routers, and operating systems.
  • Advanced skills in installing, supporting, and maintaining computers and related peripherals in a complex geographically dispersed technical enterprise.
  • Advanced knowledge of effective network security policies and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
