About the position
The Senior Network Engineer at Raytheon Digital Technology is responsible for supporting classified networks at the Goleta facility. This role involves configuring, managing, and upgrading Cisco network hardware and software, ensuring compliance with security standards, and maintaining high reliability and performance of network systems. The position requires a collaborative approach, working under general direction while interacting with various organizational contacts to support engineering and end-user community needs.
Responsibilities
- Configure, manage, and upgrade Cisco network hardware and software, including switches, routers, and ASAs.
- Ensure Information Assurance compliance for network hardware and software and mitigate identified vulnerabilities.
- Remediate IAVAM and DISA STIGS.
- Ensure compliance with security and performance requirements (NISPOM, RMF, DISA STIGs, NIST, etc.).
- Monitor systems and manage infrastructure to assure high reliability and performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or 6 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued TOP SECRET security clearance required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Experience with LAN, WAN, routers, switches, and other network hardware.
Nice-to-haves
- Background with Cisco products is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Type-1 HAIPE Encryptors and VPN technologies (IPSec, GRE, L2TP, DMVPN, etc.).
- Knowledge of access control lists and IP address management.
- Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Security+ and CCNA certifications within 6 months after being hired.
