About the position

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Network Engineer - CCNP to join our team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-tech environment within the Engineering industry. The Network Engineer will specifically focus on designing, implementing, monitoring, and troubleshooting network infrastructure to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the organization's IT systems. This position is remote but requires the candidate to be located in Charlotte, NC or Greenville, SC. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and performance of our network systems, ensuring that they meet the needs of the organization and its users. The role demands a proactive approach to network management, with a strong emphasis on problem-solving and collaboration with other team members to develop innovative solutions that align with business goals.

Responsibilities

• Design, setup, and configure complex switching environments.
• Implement, maintain and support network infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, switches, and other hardware.
• Monitor network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, and other network and system problems.
• Develop and implement policies for network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation.
• Collaborate with team members to develop future network designs and solutions to meet emerging business requirements and goals.
• Provide technical support and guidance to users.
• Carry out network maintenance tasks, including configuration and installation of network hardware and systems.
• Conduct network modeling and analysis to construct a reliable, high-performance integrated network.
• Coordinate with vendors for the provision of end-user services, including the resolution of escalated issues.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• A current and valid CCNP certification.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, specifically with a focus on network engineering.
• Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise-level network equipment.
• Extensive experience with Juniper and Fortinet network technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Willingness to stay updated with the latest advancements in technology and the industry.
