About the position

The Network Engineer - Data Centers role at Ahold Delhaize USA focuses on supporting the engineering, delivery, and operations of network platforms, particularly in data center environments. The position is responsible for managing mission-critical network infrastructure, ensuring secure connectivity, and reliable application delivery across various locations. The engineer will work closely with internal teams and external partners to implement and maintain network solutions that meet business performance and availability requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support connectivity of all on-premises, cloud, and enterprise SaaS applications.
  • Participate in day-to-day operations and troubleshooting efforts with external partners and internal customers.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in network design and solution engineering.
  • Review and establish documentation and procedural standards.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Manage datacenter technologies such as DDI platforms and load balancers.
  • Implement and deliver secure and high-performing network systems.
  • Monitor and manage the device lifecycle, including firmware maintenance of routers and switches.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, network technologies or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience with planning, building, and maintaining critical network architectures in a large-scale environment.
  • Technical foundation in networking equivalent to CCNA/CCNP/CCIE level.
  • Knowledge of L2 and L3 technologies.
  • Experience with complex routing and switching topologies in a Cisco environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • 8+ years of direct experience working in large scale networks.
  • Certifications such as CCIE (Cisco), CCNP (Cisco), Aruba, Zscaler, and Fortinet.
  • Experience working in an agile (SAFe) environment.
