About the position

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated IT professional interested in designing, building, and supporting a next-generation network. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in transforming and modernizing WAN, LAN, Voice, and Wi-Fi networks with a focus on user experience. As a technical expert in your field, you will engage with business and technology associates to ensure the network is capable of meeting the demands of the future and today. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining new and existing networks and infrastructure. Your duties will include designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze network needs, and propose solutions. Additionally, you will configure and troubleshoot Cisco switches, Ruckus Access Points, and Fortinet firewalls to optimize network performance and security. Monitoring network performance and proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime will be a key part of your role. You will implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems. Collaborating with vendors and service providers to ensure effective network management and support will also be part of your responsibilities. You will develop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures, and stay up to date with industry trends and best practices to make recommendations for network improvements. Furthermore, you will provide technical support and guidance to junior network engineers and other IT staff.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze network needs, and propose solutions.
• Configure and troubleshoot Cisco switches, Ruckus Access Points, and Fortinet firewalls to optimize network performance and security.

Requirements

• 5-7+ years of experience in designing and installing wireless networks (specifically Ruckus APs).
• 5-7+ years of experience with Fortinet Firewall.
• Cisco routers and switches experience.
• Ekahau Certified and Fortinet Certified preferred.
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a related field.

Nice-to-haves

• Cisco Certified Professional certification.
