About the position

As a Network Engineer in Deployment & Support at Meta, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing new network architectures that enhance our global network infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include participating in technical decisions aimed at improving the network landscape, as well as creating and refining alerting and monitoring systems to ensure optimal performance. You will be tasked with developing and optimizing processes and documentation, performing network configuration changes, and making enhancements across a multivendor, multiprotocol environment. In this position, you will work on performance measurement initiatives to ensure improved efficiency and will create process automation through scripting. You will be involved in building out Meta's datacenter and network footprint, diagnosing and correlating network problems, identifying root causes, and developing and implementing effective remediation strategies. Your role will also require you to scale Meta's global network by constructing new infrastructure, analyzing and implementing new architectures, and developing new operational procedures. You will be responsible for deploying, implementing, and supporting a variety of network equipment, configuring and adding capacity to server load balancers, and managing rack-switch capacity in the data center. Additionally, you will configure core switch and router interfaces, perform fault isolation, and troubleshoot network hardware, software, and circuits. Maintaining technical and training documentation, developing automation and tooling as needed, and designing, deploying, and supporting large-scale service provider, datacenter, and enterprise network infrastructure will also be key components of your role. Your knowledge of Linux OS and networking will be essential in providing insights and influencing the roadmap for data center design and operational best practices.
