About the position

As a Network Engineer at Compass Group, you will play a crucial role in the Network Services team, which is responsible for building, supporting, and optimizing the Compass North American network across both on-premises and cloud environments. This position requires a deep understanding of the organization's network infrastructure, which powers the wired, wireless, and VoIP needs of the corporate campus and remote offices. You will be tasked with deploying, configuring, and maintaining enterprise-level networks to ensure seamless data communications. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the operational stability and support of our LAN, WAN, and wireless networking infrastructure, aiming for targeted uptime and reliability. You will also be responsible for the deployment and integration of new sites and services, monitoring the health of all networking devices and WAN/Internet circuits using tools like SolarWinds for automated alerting and reporting. Regular backup and restore testing/validation will be part of your routine, along with providing tier 1 and tier 2 support for incidents related to any technology owned and supported by the Network Services group. In this role, you will work closely with other technology teams within the Enterprise Architecture and Shared Services Technology (EASST) division to align your work with the broader goals of Compass Technology and Compass Group. Your expertise in Cisco Catalyst and Meraki network management, firewall configuration and management (preferably Cisco ASA and/or Firepower NGFW), and SD-WAN technologies will be essential. Additionally, familiarity with network protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, DNS, and NAT, as well as general security concepts and protocols like IPSec, SSL/TLS, IDS/IPS, WAF, and DDoS protection, will be critical to your success in this position. You will also need experience with network monitoring tools, VoIP communications, and unified communications management, along with a good understanding of cloud and hybrid cloud networks. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and legacy of Compass Group, where every individual plays a key role in shaping the future of the company.
