About the position

The Network Engineer position is a hybrid, full-time role responsible for providing comprehensive network architectural design, engineering, implementation, and lifecycle services for data center and cloud enterprise network infrastructure. The role involves supporting various network services and products, ensuring compliance with security controls, and preparing technical documentation to support engineering efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide network architectural design, modeling, engineering, implementation, sustainment, migration, technical refresh, and lifecycle services for the data center and Cloud enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Support network services and products including routers, switches, firewalls, DNS, email gateways, proxy services, VPN, LAN, WAN, and associated device software and firmware.
  • Support Intrusion and Detection Systems (IDS) and other network defense architectures for cyber defense operations.
  • Provide design solutions and implementation guides using DoD and Industry best practices.
  • Reference an Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Framework for service transition to operations.
  • Create implementation solution documents for customer-hosted Application Delivery Controllers, including F5 BIG-IP modules.
  • Design solution documentation outlining licensing, physical architecture, logical configuration, and security policy protection phases.
  • Build, implement, and document network-enabled applications considering infrastructure requirements, security, and application performance needs.
  • Engineer and implement network architectural changes in response to technology enhancements and customer requirements.
  • Prepare solution design/technical documentation including whitepapers and briefings to support engineering efforts.

Requirements

  • Must have an active SECRET or higher security clearance.
  • Must have 4+ years of network engineering experience commensurate with the appropriate position level (junior, intermediate, lead, senior).
  • DoD 8570.01-M/8140.01 IAT Level II Certification (Security+, CySA+, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
