About the position

The Network Engineer (IPv6) position is a long-term contract role based in Morrisville, North Carolina, focused on the configuration, testing, and documentation of Routing and Switching products. The engineer will work collaboratively within a team to enhance lab infrastructure and ensure smooth operations, contributing to the certification process through design, testing, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and integrate automation solutions for certification requirements across product lines.
• Collaborate within a team for the entire lifecycle of the certification process, including technical documentation writing and development.
• Conduct network analysis and business analysis/feasibility studies.
• Test routers, switches, and wireless equipment, documenting findings.
• Configure products and utilize command line knowledge for testing.
• Ensure compliance with certification authority needs.

Requirements

• CCNA level networking knowledge and experience.
• Strong network analysis skills.
• Detail-oriented with lab testing experience.
• Experience in security and OS hardening is a plus.
• Self-motivated and a self-starter with demonstrated ability in IT Networking and Security.
• Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and presentation skills.
• Good technical writing skills with the ability to draft sophisticated engineering documentation.

Nice-to-haves

• CCNP or similar certifications preferred.
• Experience with test automation.
• Working knowledge of networking technologies including network security/IDS/IPS, network access, routing, switching, data center/cloud computing, cryptography/encryption.
