The Enterprise Technology team plays a crucial role in this mission by delivering technology solutions that align with business strategies, enhance consumer experiences, and promote operational excellence. The Business Network Design Services (BNDS) team is a vital part of Enterprise Technology, responsible for designing and implementing network infrastructure that supports various business units. This includes LAN, MAN, WAN, internet, Wi-Fi, and voice network services. Our engineers work closely with other technical teams to provide comprehensive network services, collaborating with strategy/architecture teams, network operations, global information security, and cloud teams. This position offers the opportunity to build networks for Disney's world-class business units, including filmed and TV production, media and broadcast, and content distribution. We are looking for a dynamic individual who is a problem solver, creative, and possesses a strong sense of ownership and initiative. The ideal candidate will have excellent collaboration and communication skills and a keen interest in continually learning new networking technologies. As a Network Engineer II, you will provide network design and consulting services, develop network design plans, and drive the implementation of network solutions. This hybrid role requires a balance of technical, interpersonal, and project management skills, making it essential to work effectively with business units to develop and implement solutions rapidly.

Responsibilities

  • Provide network design and consulting services to business units and peer groups.
  • Develop network design plans and drive implementation of network solutions.
  • Collaborate with Sr. Network Engineers to understand technical strategy and gather requirements.
  • Translate requirements into technology solutions through relationship building and planning.
  • Prepare technical designs with guidance from senior resources and management.
  • Write Scope of Work documents to guide 3rd party implementers in configuring network devices.
  • Assist in the oversight of 3rd party resources to ensure on-time, on-budget implementation of solutions.
  • Evaluate innovative technology solutions and provide practical perspectives for adoption.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in an enterprise environment operating 7x24 services with responsibilities in network operations, implementation, design, and architecture.
  • Working knowledge of LAN/MAN/WAN topologies & platforms, routing protocols, and current data center architectures.
  • Basic or intermediate programming skills in Python or other contemporary toolset/language.
  • Strong understanding of routing protocols including RIP, IGRP, EIGRP, OSPF, RMTP, BGP, and telecommunication connectivity.
  • Proven technical expertise in interfacing network devices in a multi-platform environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the Media/Entertainment/Video Distribution/Broadcast industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex projects effectively.
  • Data center and/or cloud network design experience.
  • Experience with multiple vendor switching, routing, and security products.
