The Business Network Design Services (BNDS) team is integral to this mission, focusing on designing and implementing network infrastructure that supports various business units. This includes services such as LAN, MAN, WAN, internet, Wi-Fi, and voice networks. Our engineers work closely with other technical teams to ensure that we provide robust network services that meet the needs of our diverse business operations, including filmed and TV production, media and broadcast, and content distribution. We are looking for a dynamic individual who is not only a problem solver but also possesses a strong sense of ownership and initiative. The ideal candidate will be someone who collaborates effectively, communicates well, and is eager to learn about new networking technologies. As a Network Engineer II, you will provide network design and consulting services to various business units and peer groups. This hybrid role requires a balance of technical expertise, interpersonal skills, and project management capabilities. You will collaborate with senior network engineers to understand technical strategies, gather requirements, and translate them into effective technology solutions. Your responsibilities will include preparing technical designs, overseeing the implementation of network solutions, and evaluating new technology options to enhance our network capabilities. This position is not focused on operations; rather, it emphasizes design and consulting, ensuring that our network infrastructure is robust, secure, and efficient.

Responsibilities

  • Provide network design and consulting services to business units and peer groups.
  • Collaborate with senior network engineers to understand technical strategies and gather requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into technology solutions.
  • Prepare technical designs with guidance from senior resources and management.
  • Write Scope of Work documents for 3rd party implementers.
  • Assist in the oversight of 3rd party resources for on-time, on-budget implementation of solutions.
  • Evaluate innovative technology solutions and provide practical perspectives for adoption.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in an enterprise environment operating 7x24 services.
  • Working knowledge of LAN/MAN/WAN topologies and platforms, routing protocols, and data center architectures.
  • Basic or intermediate programming skills in Python or other contemporary languages.
  • Strong understanding of routing protocols including RIP, IGRP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, etc.
  • Proven technical expertise in interfacing network devices in a multi-platform environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the Media/Entertainment/Video Distribution/Broadcast industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex projects.
  • Data center and/or cloud network design experience.
  • Experience with multiple vendor switching, routing, and security products.
