About the position

The Network Engineer II position focuses on providing complex technical support for the Bank's data and voice network infrastructure. This role involves installing, maintaining, and supporting network systems, while also providing Tier 2 support for networking issues. The engineer will resolve escalated technical issues, manage network components, and collaborate with vendors and colleagues to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs. Additionally, the position includes responsibilities for asset inventory, capacity planning, and disaster recovery testing, with an emphasis on driving operational excellence and providing continuous service through on-call support.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 technical support for data or voice network systems
• Monitor and audit network performance
• Update documentation and procedures
• Drive operational excellence in network management
• Configure and install network hardware and software infrastructure including Wireless, Route/Switch, Cisco ACI, SolarWinds, and Cisco SDWAN
• Provide expertise in BGP and other dynamic routing protocols
• Implement, document, and plan regular upgrades of network devices while maintaining compliance with SLAs and security standards
• Monitor and respond to system-generated alerts to identify and resolve issues
• Collaborate with vendors and management to implement services and reduce costs
• Manage network asset inventory and capacity planning
• Assist with disaster recovery testing efforts
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Data, Voice, or Converged Networking OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Data, Voice, or Converged Networking
• In-depth knowledge of numerous networking technologies and protocols
• Technical skills regarding network routing, switching, and provisioning
• Experience with Cisco switching and routing (NxOS and IOS)
• Collaboration with cross-functional groups

Nice-to-haves

• 6-8 years of experience with enterprise network systems and excellent troubleshooting expertise
• Certifications: CCNA, CCNP Routing and Switching
• Certifications in Wireless, Cisco ACI, Thousand Eyes
• Packet Aggregation experience (Gigamon)
• IPAM experience (Infoblox)
• Provisioning skills
