Network Engineer IIs play a crucial role in collaborating with customers to implement and upgrade their network infrastructure. This position involves working closely with clients to address network-related issues, ensuring that their systems are efficient and secure. The responsibilities include planning, designing, and evaluating both new and existing network systems, as well as managing the services that connect multiple platforms handled by the Network Operations team. The role encompasses a variety of technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, VoIP platforms, VPN connections, and cabling. Network Engineer IIs are primarily customer-facing, which means they must possess strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and understand their needs. In addition to direct customer interaction, Network Engineer IIs are responsible for device migrations, installations of network infrastructure, and coordinating with Quality Assurance and Risk Management teams to ensure configuration integrity and compliance with company policies. They also play a vital role in training and supporting junior Network Engineers, sharing their advanced knowledge and expertise to foster a collaborative team environment. The position requires a proactive approach to incident response and maintaining the security of the network infrastructure, ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely manner and that the integrity of customer data is protected.
