The position involves the planning and implementation of local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and remote access services. The individual in this role is expected to provide third-level support for the Ryder IT Technical Service Desk, addressing any end-user or site issues that require assistance beyond the capabilities of the service desk. This includes identifying hardware or software technical problems and malfunctions related to network infrastructure, and escalating issues to the appropriate carrier as necessary. The role also entails monitoring and controlling infrastructure performance, focusing on response times, throughput, and availability to ensure optimal network functionality. Key responsibilities include performing network upgrades, routine hardware configuration, and incident ticket problem resolution. The individual will participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation, implement network architectures, and administer corporate network services such as DNS, DHCP, and authentication. Comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks must be created and maintained, ensuring that all network configurations and changes are well-documented for future reference. In addition to these essential functions, the role requires the individual to monitor, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve network problems, configure and maintain LAN/WAN equipment, and assist in the preparation of proposals and solution presentations. The position also involves presenting root cause analysis (RCA) for severity 1 incidents and performing daily maintenance and problem resolution on the LAN/WAN environment. Other duties may be assigned as needed, making this a dynamic and multifaceted role within the organization.
