About the position

The position involves planning and implementing local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and remote access services. The individual will serve as the third level support for the Ryder IT Technical Service Desk, addressing end-user or site issues that exceed the service desk's capabilities. Responsibilities include identifying hardware or software problems, escalating issues to appropriate carriers, and monitoring network performance to ensure optimal response, throughput, and availability.

Responsibilities

  • Network upgrades and routine hardware configuration
  • Monitor and control network performance in the areas of response, throughput, and availability
  • Remedy incident ticket problem resolution
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation
  • Implement network architectures, including LAN, WLAN, and WAN
  • Corporate Network Services administration- DNS, DHCP, Authentication
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks
  • Escalate issues to the appropriate carrier or vendor as required
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network problems
  • Configure, test, and maintain LAN/WAN equipment
  • Assist in preparation of proposals and solution presentations
  • Present root cause analysis (RCA) for severity 1 incidents
  • Daily maintenance and problem resolution on the LAN/WAN environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in MIS, CIS, MBA, or Business Administration
  • Eight (8) years or more of experience in IT and/or Networking or Security required
  • Advanced knowledge of Cisco enterprise Routers and Switches
  • Expertise in WiFi technologies such as Aruba, Cisco, Meraki, and Aerohive-Extreme
  • Intermediate knowledge of F5 or equivalent ADC Load Balancers
  • Intermediate knowledge of cloud services including Azure, AWS, and OCI
  • Intermediate knowledge of networking monitoring and application performance tools such as Solarwinds
  • CCNP or equivalent proven enterprise experience
  • CWNP or CWSP certifications preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced knowledge of SDWAN technology-Silverpeak and Meraki preferred
