About the position

The Network Engineer-III position at WI-MilwCounty is a full-time role focused on the design, implementation, and maintenance of network systems. In addition to technical skills, the Network Engineer-III will be expected to document network configurations, maintain inventory of network devices, and provide support for network-related issues. The position also involves collaborating with vendors and service providers to ensure that the network infrastructure is up to date and compliant with industry standards. The engineer will participate in planning and executing network upgrades and expansions, as well as providing training and support to junior staff members. Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain network systems and infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.).
  • Experience with network security measures and firewalls.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing routers and switches.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Experience with cloud networking solutions.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and software.
