About the position

The position is focused on the planning, deploying, integrating, and testing of network upgrades at various operational sites. The candidate will be responsible for learning and executing these tasks while providing assistance as needed. This role requires the candidate to travel to remote locations, including military bases and international sites such as Alaska, Guam, and Europe, to perform network installations and troubleshooting. The candidate will also be responsible for providing status updates to Program personnel, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. The work environment is collaborative and agile, requiring the candidate to thrive in team settings and communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders. The candidate will be expected to utilize their knowledge of network design and development methodologies to contribute to the success of the projects they are involved in. This position is based in Colorado Springs, CO, but the ability to travel to various locations is essential for fulfilling job duties, particularly for deployments and installations.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the planning, deploying, integrating, and testing of network upgrades at operational sites.
  • Travel to remote locations to perform network installations and troubleshooting.
  • Provide status updates to Program personnel regarding project progress and issues.
  • Collaborate with team members in a dynamic and agile work environment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of network design, development, and testing methodologies.
  • Understanding of the OSI Model, TCP/IP, routing protocols BGP and OSPF.
  • Network traffic analysis, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of firewall technologies and configurations.
  • Familiarity with UDP multicast, SONET, MSPP, VLANs, GRE Tunnels, and TCP/IP network designs.
  • Experience with multi-vendor switching routing, WAN optimization, encryption devices, and optical transport equipment.
  • Effective communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially PowerPoint and Visio.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with government security clearance processes and requirements.
  • Familiarity with military communication protocols and standards.
