About the position

The Network Engineer III position is a critical role within our organization, focusing on the planning, implementation, and management of enterprise networks. This hybrid role, based in Greenwood Village, CO, requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in network engineering and a deep understanding of various networking technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and documenting network architecture, ensuring that all components work seamlessly together to meet the organization's needs. In this role, you will perform assessments on existing technologies to identify performance and capacity gaps, providing recommendations to optimize network infrastructure. You will also establish security measures, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems, to protect the network from potential threats. Your expertise in programming routers and switches will be essential as you implement various communications technologies, whether for data or voice. The position demands a solid knowledge of routing protocols, network hardware and software, and security technologies. You will manage network services from the planning phase through to implementation, ensuring that all aspects of the network are functioning optimally and securely. Responsibilities

  • Plans and implements enterprise networks and related hardware and software.
  • Designs and documents network architecture.
  • Performs assessments on existing technologies to determine performance and capacity gaps.
  • Establishes security (firewalls, intrusion detection), connectivity and access parameters.
  • Provides recommendations to optimize network infrastructure.
  • Tests and tunes security devices and systems.
  • Programs routers and switches.
  • Implements communications technologies (data or voice).
  • Manages network services from planning phase through implementation.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in network engineering.
  • Ability to write technical documentation.
  • Ability to write and follow detailed technical test plans.
  • Advanced knowledge of the DOCSIS and EPON standards.
  • Working knowledge of CMTS platforms including Casa C100G, Arris E6000, Cisco cBR8, RPHY, and Harmonic vCMTS and RPDs.
  • Working knowledge of EPON platforms including ADTRAN 95XX and SDX-6210, Vecima (Nokia) 7360 and Distributed Access Architecture SF-4x, SC-2D3.
  • Working knowledge of switch platforms including Cisco Company/ASR and Juniper PTX/QFX/ACX.
  • Working knowledge of routing protocols including OSPF, ISIS, BGP, and v4/v6 Multicast.
