The Network Engineer III is a senior-level position at the University of the Pacific, responsible for the design, security, maintenance, and installation of networking, telecommunications, and computer systems. A critical aspect of the position involves providing detailed technical analysis for projects that require network and telecommunications connectivity, ensuring that security and wireless considerations are addressed. The engineer will develop and monitor project plans for network infrastructure implementation, coordinating resources to ensure successful execution. They will also establish performance metrics, identify and resolve network problems using various monitoring tools, and maintain positive vendor relations to secure adequate technical support. Additionally, the role includes providing project coordination, conducting technical research and development, and offering leadership and training to junior network engineers.
