About the position
The Network Engineer III at GCI Communication Corp is responsible for applying engineering principles to design, develop, implement, and support network infrastructure within the company. This senior-level position focuses on ensuring high availability and performance of network systems, while also mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with various teams to optimize network operations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the integrity of high availability network infrastructure for maximum performance.
- Understand and apply GCI standard engineering concepts such as availability, efficiency, redundancy, scalability, and security.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of current network and systems facilities.
- Maximize performance using network monitoring tools and troubleshoot outages.
- Provide detailed reports on network operational status and project milestones.
- Support remote site personnel and customers as needed.
- Coordinate with project management and engineering teams regularly.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Technologies, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant field.
- Minimum of six years of experience in progressive engineering in information technology and telecommunications.
- Strong knowledge of standard network engineering concepts and practices.
