About the position

Our client is currently seeking a Network Engineer III to join the Core Network Engineering and Implementation team. This role involves engineering the new eNSE platform located within data centers throughout the United States. As part of the Network Build Team, the successful candidate will assist with and perform implementation responsibilities while collaborating closely with diverse Engineering teams to achieve strategic technology goals and facilitate the transition from VXLAN to the eNSE platform. This innovative network leverages virtualization and software-defined networking to transform product and service delivery, maintaining the company's position as an industry leader. The Network Engineer will be responsible for engineering IP networking build projects and will work closely with the Capacity Planning, Design, and Operations teams to implement strategic technology goals. The candidate will foster an environment of teamwork and cooperation with all stakeholders, including territories, edge, and design. Key responsibilities include writing technical and detailed Layer 1 equipment installation and fiber testing Method of Procedures (MOP), scheduling and tracking testing failures, and collaborating with local market team members across the United States to deploy and troubleshoot newly installed racked routers and switches in Wireless MSCs (Mobile Switching Centers). Additionally, the role requires developing network configurations from design models/templates by creating MOPs for Engineers to implement during network maintenance windows. The candidate should have hands-on experience configuring routers, switches, and related network equipment, preferably including Cisco Carrier Routing Systems (CRS), Cisco Network Convergence System (NCS), ASR 9K, ISR 3945, Nexus 3K, 7K, 9K, and Juniper MX-480, MX-960.
