About the position

Our client is currently seeking a Network Engineer III to work on-site in the Denver/Colorado Springs area. This position is critical as it requires a government security clearance, with a minimum of DoD Secret clearance and a desired Top Secret clearance. Candidates must be U.S. Citizens to be considered for this role. The primary responsibility of the Network Engineer will be to support the company's program by planning, deploying, integrating, and testing upgrades to the Command and Control Battle Management Command (C2BMC) network at operational sites. This role will involve significant travel to remote locations to lead and perform network installations, troubleshoot issues independently, and provide status updates to program personnel. The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a network engineer, with hands-on mid-level expertise in network design, development, and testing methodologies. A strong understanding of the OSI Model, TCP/IP, and routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF is essential. Candidates should possess skills in network traffic analysis, diagnostics, and troubleshooting, along with experience in firewall technologies, particularly with Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto firewalls. Familiarity with UDP multicast, SONET, MSPP, VLANs, GRE Tunnels, and TCP/IP network designs is also required. Additionally, candidates should have hands-on experience with multi-vendor switching and routing (including Juniper and Cisco), WAN optimization, TACLANEs, and optical transport equipment. Effective communication skills are crucial, as the role requires excellent writing and presentation abilities, particularly using Microsoft Office products like PowerPoint and Visio. The candidate should thrive in a collaborative and agile environment and have a solid understanding of standard DOD security practices, including STIG compliance and system accreditation implementation efforts. Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as NFV, SDWAN, VMware, VMware Cloud Foundation, NSX, vSAN, and Aria is desired, as is experience with network automation using Ansible. Prior experience with C2BMC is also a plus. The position requires an IAT Level II 8570 Compliant Certification, such as Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, etc. Educationally, candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Technology) or possess equivalent experience combined with education, along with 5 years of professional experience or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree.

Responsibilities
