About the position

The position involves providing technical support to the IT Infrastructure division and hospital network users, ensuring high availability of voice, data, and video services. The role requires administration and configuration of networking technology, including firewalls, VLANs, and wireless networking, to support the hospital's electronic medical record (EMR) system. The individual will monitor network services in a 24x7 environment, troubleshoot issues, and report resolutions to IT management.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the IT Infrastructure division and hospital network users.
• Administer enterprise data, voice, and video networks.
• Install and configure network hardware and software.
• Configure server and client network settings.
• Administer network security and monitoring.
• Troubleshoot network issues and report resolutions to IT management.
• Ensure high availability of network services for the hospital's EMR system.
• Configure firewalls, Internet monitoring software, and VLAN software.
• Monitor network services in a 24x7 environment.

Requirements

• 4 years of experience in network administration.
• Understanding of voice over IP (VoIP) technology and wireless networking protocols.
• Experience with network monitoring tools in a high availability environment.
• Familiarity with Cisco routers (IOS 12.x) and protocols like RIP, OSPF, EIGRP.
• Knowledge of Cisco wireless networking technology and VoIP telephony.
• Understanding of networking systems, architectures, and protocols including TCP/IP.
• Familiarity with WAN technologies and concepts.
• Experience with Ethernet topologies and security/firewall technology.
• Direct involvement with Cisco networking equipment in a high availability environment.
• Knowledge of network management systems and tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Background in ITIL, COBIT, ITSM, and ISO 197799 standards.
• CCNP Route/Switch certification.
• CCNP Voice certification.
