As a Network Engineer Intermediate at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in supporting the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) by ensuring the integrity and availability of network systems. This position involves working under the guidance of a Senior Network Engineer to install, configure, and maintain various network systems, including local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and the Agency Internet Network (AIN). You will be responsible for monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions to enhance network capabilities. Your work will directly contribute to the Department of Defense's mission to keep the country safe and secure. In this role, you will analyze user requirements and develop network specifications that align with operational needs. You will guide users in formulating their requirements and advise on alternative approaches while conducting feasibility studies. Your technical leadership will be essential in integrating network requirements with design and technology, ensuring that new network plans and systems are seamlessly incorporated into ongoing operations. You will also be tasked with developing network architecture documentation and managing the transition and migration of networks, including the development of addressing schemes. As a key member of the team, you will interact with government personnel regarding technical considerations and resolve any associated issues. Your ultimate responsibility will be to ensure the technical integrity of all work performed in the Network Engineering area, communicating effectively with program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
