About the position

The Lead Network Engineer position at INSPYR Solutions is a critical role that involves overseeing and managing complex technology deployments, ensuring effective communication across various teams, and leading the documentation of standard operational processes for new technologies. This position requires a strong focus on project administration, where the engineer will communicate status updates and lead both internal and contractor teams in large-scale technology implementations. The role also involves organizing and participating in project design sessions with the Project Management Office (PMO) and delegating functional project work to engineering teams. In addition to project management responsibilities, the Lead Network Engineer will be tasked with training and socializing new processes and technologies to peers and internal support teams. This includes writing and publishing knowledge base articles for troubleshooting and configuration processes, as well as reviewing and approving articles created by other team members. The engineer will also lead training sessions in specialized areas of network work for other team members, fostering inter-team collaboration to identify and address process and technology gaps. The role requires strong leadership skills, as the engineer will be responsible for communicating with senior leadership on high-priority issues, participating in strategy and architectural design sessions, and representing networking at change and architecture review boards. Vendor relations are also a key aspect of the position, as the engineer will work with equipment vendors and circuit carriers to improve network capacity, redundancy, and resiliency. Documentation is another critical component of this role, where the engineer will define documentation standards, create repeatable resolutions to common problems, and manage the process of socializing these resolutions with lower support tiers. The Lead Network Engineer will also be involved in after-hours support, participating in on-call rotations and leading troubleshooting efforts for high-priority incidents.
