About the position

The Network Engineer IV position at The Friedkin Group is a senior-level role focused on supporting the organization's enterprise data network. The engineer will act as a subject matter expert on the enterprise network platform, managing WAN, LAN, firewalls, and load balancing. This role involves daily operations support, project roles, and mentoring junior team members, ensuring high availability and security of the network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Engineers, configures, and leads the design, configuration, and deployment of network infrastructure including routers, switches, wireless, load balancers, and other network devices and services.
• Performs analysis of networking problems and provides highest-level response management.
• Ensures network redundancy, high availability, and failover testing across all enterprise WAN connectivity.
• Demonstrates expert level knowledge of network topologies, protocols, standards, and conditions.
• Ensures changes to network configurations are made with minimal down-time and in accordance with change management policies.
• Responsible for configuration standards and support documentation.
• Reduces security risk by securing network platforms from vulnerabilities and maintaining patching cycles of all network software and hardware.
• Collaborates and works well with peers, across teams, and with customers in developing solutions and problem resolution.
• Understands network firewalls and network segmentation.
• Works with business partners in the selection, procurement, implementation, and support of public and private circuits as well as networks at remote locations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 8+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
• Expertise in Aruba and Cisco switching/routing/VXLAN.
• Experience with Aruba wireless in both office and manufacturing facilities.
• Knowledge of Citrix NetScaler Load Balancing including GSLB.
• Experience with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls and SDWAN.
• Proficient in IPSec Site-to-site VPNs, both dynamic and static, with SDWAN on FortiGate firewalls.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools (Solarwinds, FortiManager, Ansible, and Fabric Composer preferred).
• CCNP - Cisco Certified Network Professional preferred.
• CCIE or equivalent in Aruba and FortiNet preferred.
