About the position

The Network Engineer - IV position at Ampcus Inc. is focused on supporting the Core Network Engineering team, particularly in the South Central and South East Markets. The role involves engineering responsibilities related to the integration of a Leaf-and-Spine network fabric, working closely with various teams to implement strategic technology goals and facilitate the transition to the eNSE network fabric platform. The engineer will also be responsible for developing network configurations, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and building networks for cloud platform interconnections.

Responsibilities

• Support the Core Network Engineering team in the South Central and South East Markets.
• Assist in integrating the Leaf-and-Spine network fabric.
• Collaborate with Capacity Planning, Design, and Operations teams to implement strategic technology goals.
• Support the migration of core elements to eNSE and onboarding of VNFs.
• Develop network configurations from design models and templates.
• Work with cross-functional teams to build, migrate, and decommission networks.
• Build networks for interconnection to Cloud Platforms for growth and expansion.
• Utilize underlay and overlay controllers for network creation and deployments.
• Engineer network solutions and interact with application teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience in data networking and telecommunications.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in data networking and telecommunications, preferably in a service provider or large enterprise network environment.
• Strong experience with Leaf-and-Spine network fabric leveraging Cisco and Nokia SR-OS.
• CCIE certification or equivalent level is required.
• Hands-on experience configuring Nokia (Alcatel Client) routers, switches, and related network equipment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Nokia ALU 7750 SR1s/7s, and 7250 IXR with hands-on operating SR-OS.
• Familiarity with Cisco Carrier Routing Systems (CRS), Cisco Network Convergence System, ASR 9K, ISR 3945, Nexus 3K, 7K, 9K.
• Solid understanding of networking technologies such as VXLAN, EVPN, L2VPN, L3VPN, OSPF, ISIS, MP-BGP, BGP-LU, QOS/Traffic Engineering, MPLS.
• Any cloud and scripting experience, including Linux, Openstack, Python, automation, ansibles, and virtualization.
