Our Operating Model focuses on maintaining operational excellence and reliability of Spectrum's network to enhance our customer's experience. The Network Operations environment is based on our Key Laws of Focus which values accuracy, resiliency and response time. Core and Backbone Operations (CBO) builds and operates technology infrastructure that provides our advanced platforms and applications the necessary reach and connectivity to function at peak capability. CBO teams, utilizing cutting edge technology and deep expertise, plan, prepare, deploy and maintain transport and internet protocol systems for Spectrum's national network foot. CBO's mission is to deliver Spectrum's high quality internal products and the internet's most popular services with industry leading availability and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Identify scope of projects and utilize Charter internal resources, including COIN, Remedy, and JIRA to write Methods of Procedures for implementing changes to the networks.
  • Participate in network planning, network architecture design and engineering.
  • Evaluate new products and perform network problem resolution.
  • Contribute in designing corporate standards and develop network enhancements and provide tier support across organizations.
  • Lead project teams that maintain and improve network operations.
  • Act as a mentor to junior staff.
  • Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Integrate communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations.
  • Lead network planning, architecture, design, and engineering.
  • Develop and document technical standards and implement approved methods of procedure.
  • Design corporate standards, develop network enhancements, and provide tier support across organizations.
  • Responsible for the implementation of approved telecommunications network architecture and designs.
  • Plan, forecast, implement, and identify resource requirements for complex network systems.
  • Support network design and planning including topological design, network-synthesis, and network-realization; network architecture including supporting network traffic flow and complex troubleshooting; and network protocols including network traffic flow and security measures including TCP, UDP, and MRTG.
  • Support network topology including schematic arrangement and assessing physical and logical relationship of nodes using Netbrain.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in network design and planning including topological design, network-synthesis, and network-realization.
  • Experience in network architecture including supporting network traffic flow and complex troubleshooting.
  • Experience in network protocols including network traffic flow and security measures including TCP, UDP, and MRTG.
  • Experience in network topology including schematic arrangement and assessing physical and logical relationship of nodes using Netbrain.
