About the position

The Network Engineer IV at GCI Communication Corp is responsible for applying engineering principles to design, develop, implement, and support network infrastructure within the company. This role ensures high availability and performance of network systems, identifies opportunities for improvement, and provides technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers. The position requires a deep understanding of telecommunications standards and the ability to manage complex projects effectively.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the integrity of high availability network infrastructure for maximum performance.
• Understand and apply GCI standard engineering concepts such as availability, efficiency, redundancy, scalability, and security.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of current network and systems facilities.
• Maximize performance using network monitoring tools and troubleshoot outages.
• Maintain professional skillset through educational opportunities and technical organizations.
• Provide detailed reports on network operational status and project milestones.
• Support remote site personnel and customers as needed.
• Coordinate with project management and engineering teams regularly.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Technologies, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant field.
• Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in progressive engineering in information technology and telecommunications.
• Strong knowledge of standard network engineering concepts and practices.
