The Network Engineer, Lead position is critical for ensuring that the Department of Defense (DoD) has a robust and adaptable network infrastructure to support its missions. As a seasoned network engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing networks that meet the current and evolving needs of the DoD. This role requires a combination of technical expertise and strategic planning to craft networks with the right equipment and software. You will leverage your experience in network design and architecture, system interoperability, and various networking protocols to enhance the security, reliability, and availability of mission-critical systems. In this position, you will develop enterprise-wide infrastructure designs and troubleshoot complex network issues. You will apply your knowledge of routing and switching, IP engineering, and multi-protocol label switching to guide a team of technical staff in deploying new capabilities and technologies. Your role will also involve serving as a trusted advisor to clients on critical projects, utilizing your expertise in firewalls, Cisco and Palo Alto hardware, and optical infrastructure networking. The position demands a proactive approach to network engineering, where your technical curiosity and understanding of industry standards will directly impact national security missions. You will be expected to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned with the network's design and implementation strategies.
