About the position

The Network Engineer position is focused on supporting the Network Qualification of devices and software for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This role requires a strong understanding of hardware and software testing, networking protocols, and programming skills. The engineer will be responsible for testing new hardware and software, automating tasks, and collaborating with various teams to ensure network reliability and performance.

Responsibilities

• Using existing procedures and tools to test new hardware, optics, protocols, and software.
• Developing scripts to automate routine tasks for the team and business units.
• Coordinating with networking automation services for the development and integration of support tooling.
• Building dashboards to represent data at various network layers and device roles to identify network issues and anomalies.
• Collaborating with network vendor technical account team and internal qualification and test team to drive bug resolution and assist in the qualification of new firmware and/or operating systems.
• Collaborating with program/project managers to develop milestones and deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related engineering field with 3+ years of Network Engineering experience.
• Experience working in a large ISP or cloud provider environment.
• Experience working in a network test engineer role.
• Knowledge of protocols such as MPLS, BGP/OSPF/IS-IS, TCP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, and DHCP. Experience with VxLAN and EVPN is a plus.
• Experience with scripting or automation and data center design, Python preferred.
• Experience with network modeling and programming, including YANG, OpenConfig, and NETCONF.
• Ability to use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues, capable of working under limited supervision.
• Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Excellent judgment in influencing product roadmap direction, features, and priorities.
