About the position

Parsons is seeking a talented Mid-Level Network Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and maintaining critical network systems that support our Technical Operations. You will leverage your knowledge of network systems to assist in the design and installation of both internal and external networks, ensuring that they meet the operational needs of our clients. Your responsibilities will include testing and evaluating network systems to identify and resolve issues, as well as making necessary improvements to enhance performance and reliability. As a Mid-Level Network Engineer, you will rely on established guidelines and instructions to perform your daily job functions effectively. A strong ability to produce and maintain varied technical documentation is essential, as you will be responsible for documenting network configurations, changes, and procedures. Responsibilities

  • Design and install internal and external networks using knowledge of network systems.
  • Test and evaluate network systems to identify problems and implement improvements.
  • Produce and maintain varied technical documentation related to network configurations and procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure network systems meet operational requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a relevant Engineering field from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in network engineering (3+ years preferred).
  • Certifications: JNCDA, JNCDS-DC, JNCDS-SEC, CCNA, or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain and hold a Secret clearance.
  • Experience with physical network hardware installation.
  • Hands-on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, and content filtering.
  • Experience with network security and networking technologies, as well as system, security, and network monitoring tools.
  • Automation and scripting experience in support of network deployments.
  • Experience in a large-scale enterprise network environment spanning multiple data centers with high-availability requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a relevant Engineering field from an accredited university.
  • Top Secret or interim/active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret.
  • DoD 8140.03 Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CYSA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), etc.
  • Experience with firewalls and automated network builds.
  • Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) and network automation tools.
  • Familiarity with Defensive Cyber Operations Concepts.
  • Military experience or former DoD experience.
