About the position

Parsons is seeking a talented Mid-Level Network Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and maintaining critical network systems that support our Technical Operations. As a Mid-Level Network Engineer, you will be responsible for testing and evaluating network systems to identify and resolve issues, thereby enhancing performance and reliability. You will rely on established guidelines and instructions to perform your daily functions, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. A strong ability to produce and maintain varied technical documentation is crucial, as this will support the ongoing management and improvement of our network systems. Responsibilities

  • Design and install internal and external networks using knowledge of network systems.
  • Test and evaluate network systems to identify problems and implement improvements.
  • Produce and maintain varied technical documentation related to network systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure network reliability and efficiency.
  • Support the implementation of security measures for network systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or relevant Engineering field from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in network engineering (3+ years preferred).
  • Certifications: JNCDA, JNCDS-DC, JNCDS-SEC, CCNA, or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain and hold a Secret clearance.
  • Experience with physical network hardware installation.
  • Hands-on experience in security systems, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
  • Experience with network security and networking technologies.
  • Automation and scripting experience in support of network deployments.
  • Experience in a large-scale enterprise network environment with high-availability requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or relevant Engineering field from an accredited university.
  • Top Secret or interim/active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret.
  • DoD 8140.03 Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CYSA), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
  • Experience with automated network builds and security hardening.
  • Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) and network automation tools.
  • Military experience or former DoD experience.
