About the position

The Network Engineer position is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 15 years of experience in network engineering and IT security. The role involves designing and implementing strategic plans to ensure network capacity meets current and future requirements, as well as managing network performance and troubleshooting issues. The engineer will also be responsible for developing policies, conducting research on emerging technologies, and overseeing network installations and upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans for network capacity.
• Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for network resource administration.
• Develop and deploy methodologies for testing network performance and providing statistics and reports.
• Conduct research on emerging technologies and recommend cost-effective solutions.
• Plan, acquire, and coordinate installation of network devices and appliances.
• Make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, and standards.
• Design company LANs, WANs, VMs, virtual networks, and wireless networks.
• Oversee equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
• Interact with vendors and contractors for network products and services.
• Recommend improvements to existing systems architecture and technology portfolio.
• Establish and maintain communication with executives and stakeholders regarding network activities.
• Conduct feasibility studies for upgrade projects and improvements.
• Configure networks for smooth and reliable operation.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Manage servers including database, e-mail, print, and backup servers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in information technology or computer science.
• Minimum 15 years of successful work experience in network engineering.
• Cisco Certification(s) in specialized areas.
