As a Network Engineer at VLCM, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing firewall solutions that protect our clients' networks. Your responsibilities will include configuring firewall rules, setting up VPNs, and managing security appliances. You will conduct regular reviews and updates to ensure optimal performance and security of the firewall systems. Troubleshooting firewall issues will be a key part of your role, as you will collaborate with IT security teams to enforce security policies and ensure compliance with industry standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for documenting configurations and generating reports on firewall performance and security incidents, which are essential for maintaining the integrity of our clients' networks. In this position, you will design and implement firewall solutions that align with our clients' security policies and regulatory requirements. You will configure firewall rules and other security appliances to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats. Regular reviews and updates of firewall configurations will be necessary to ensure that they remain effective against evolving threats. You will also assist in reviewing firewall logs and network traffic for suspicious activity or security breaches, performing routine maintenance and updates to firewall hardware and software as needed. Your role will require you to troubleshoot and resolve firewall-related issues promptly to minimize downtime and impact on business operations. Collaboration with VLCM's and customers' IT security teams will be essential in developing, implementing, and enforcing security policies and procedures. You will ensure that firewall configurations comply with industry best practices and regulatory standards, conducting regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies. In the event of security incidents or breaches, you will respond by analyzing firewall logs, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions. Participation in incident response drills and contributing to the development of incident response plans will also be part of your responsibilities. Finally, you will create detailed documentation of firewall configurations, changes, and incidents, and generate regular reports on firewall performance, security incidents, and compliance status for management review.
