About the position

The Network Engineer position at Emory University is a central office role within the Office of Information Technology (OIT), responsible for managing voice, data, and wireless engineering for the university's enterprise communications systems. Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge of network systems, applications, and infrastructure for technical expertise in designs, expansions, and configurations.
  • Monitor critical processes in the Network Operations Center for enterprise-wide systems and applications.
  • Develop software and tools for optimizing network monitoring and performance.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network services and devices.
  • Interact with customers to resolve network issues.
  • Perform inspections and upgrades, and maintain documentation.
  • Monitor network performance and prepare usage and outage statistics.
  • Design system configurations and collaborate for maintenance and growth.
  • Set policies, guidelines, and best practices for network operations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on network communications and provide auxiliary support for IT services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
  • Five years of related IT experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
