The Network Engineer or Network Infrastructure Engineer or Network Administrator position is primarily focused on infrastructure and network security engineering. The role is structured to allocate 80% of the work to lab environments and 20% to production support. In the lab, the engineer will be responsible for the installation and deinstallation of network equipment, conducting tests, and documenting the network environments. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of network architectures, including the roles of routers, switches, firewalls, and application delivery controllers. They should possess robust troubleshooting skills, particularly in Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3 troubleshooting. The position requires a minimum of 2-3 years of experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked with Keysight products. Familiarity with F5 firewalls and Juniper devices is also advantageous. The role demands a proactive approach to network security, with a focus on testing firewalls in a production environment and ensuring the integrity of network configurations. Candidates should be prepared to lift equipment weighing between 20 to 50 pounds, as the role involves handling large caches and blades associated with F5 firewalls. The position is a contract role lasting 12 months, with a hybrid working model requiring three days a week on-site in Branchburg, New Jersey. A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required for this position.
