About the position

The Network Engineer position is a contract role based in Aberdeen, Maryland, focused on providing technical support and expertise in network management and deployment. The role requires a strong background in networking, particularly with SD-WAN and large-scale network design, and involves working closely with clients to resolve complex networking issues. The position demands a high level of technical presentation and project management skills, as well as the ability to lead and mentor others in the field.

Responsibilities

• Builds and maintains consultative / trusted advisor relationship with clients.
• Performs problem analysis and acts as technical specialist for complex deployments and provides highest-level crisis management.
• Demonstrates proven technical project management skills.
• Delivers excellent technical presentations to all levels, especially to internal and customer senior management.
• Exhibits leadership and mentoring skills.
• Influences at senior levels in the company organization and customer organizations.
• Performs analysis and diagnosis of highly complex networking problems.
• Builds simulated networks in test labs to resolve highly complex problems and compatibility issues.
• Contributes to Virtual Teams.
• Provides ad hoc systems/product knowledge transfers.
• Assists in generation of standard project documentation including test plans.
• Assists in generation of network configurations from Low Level Design.
• Assists in execution of project delivery including network staging, implementation and handover.
• Assists in Network Upgrade and Migration Activities.
• Assists customer with deployment of medium complexity tools and related Network Management Systems.

Requirements

• Minimum 6-8 years of experience with a CCNP or a CCNA Enterprise certification.
• Advanced hands-on focus in SD-WAN, R/S, Data Center, large scale Network design, deploying, and maintaining networks.
• Must have DoD Secret Clearance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Client facing experience.
